The older I get the better I become at knowing my strengths and outsourcing the rest! I so admire mamas who make handmade gifts for their children, but I simply don’t have the time or talent to make many of the things I’d like to gift for my kids this year. Etsy to the rescue! …

My fifth grader and I have finally wrapped up Greece. 😅 We spent three weeks on the Greek Myths and then three weeks on history (and definitely could have filled twice that amount of time!). For her final project I asked her to read these three books and then write an essay explaining whether she would have preferred to grow up in Athens or Sparta. Such a great project! And totally not my idea - I got it from the Waldorf Inspirations Web site. We have loved ancient history so, so much. I’ve been going back and forth about whether to cover Rome this year or save it for next year and we’ve decided to dive in, so Rome here we come.
I got to spend the weekend snuggling baby goats and lambs and then yesterday I got my first vaccine shot. I’ve been stuck in this loop of *getting through all of this* and it feels so good to be making plans and envisioning what we want our post-pandemic life to look like.
We had our annual spring visit to Leaping Lamb Farm over the weekend and were lucky enough to have three bottle lambs to feed and two day-old baby goats to snuggle while we were there. What a joy. ✨
Much needed. 🌲
Sharing some tidbits about March in our homeschool over on my blog. I’m chatting about pandemic fatigue, Greek Myths, doing a block on a subject my child is already super familiar with, Waffles and Mochi and the book on talking about sex with your kids that I think every parent should read. Hope you have a chance to read!
So, so proud of my seven-year-old and his knitted lion! He worked so hard on this project and I just helped with the face and mane. Leo the Lion will be treasured for a very long time. 😍
What a special Holy Saturday treat - we got to meet this one-week-old baby goat, Obonato. We managed to not steal her from her owner - hard to resist! 🐐❤️
My kids are speculating about whether Portland looks pink from space right now. 🌸☺️#springinportland
